Mut ensiks vähä vaihteluu rojektii "Kaikkea kivaa perunasta" - nuudelpossuu. Liotin par pakettii valmisnuudeleita kulhos, mis ol rutoksee mausteita ja pääle kaasin kiehuvaa vettä. Sil aikaa paistoin piene pala possuu suikalein, ommaa sipulii ja pensaspappuu, ja sit heiti lionneet nuudelit sekkaa.

But first, noodles with pork (the project "100 ways of eating potatoes!" needed to be put on hold for a day or two). I soaked the noodles with spices and boiling water in a bowl and while they were soaking, I fried some sliced pork, onions and green beans. Then I poured the noodles on top.

My cherry tomatoes suffered from the weather and the harvest has been minimal, so I bought some normal-sized tomatoes from a local farmer instead. I squeezed the seeds out and cubed the tomatoes (about 1 kilo) and set them aside. I cut some onions, garlic and chili to a pan with oil and fried them for a while before adding the tomato cubes, then let it boil for half an hour. I added a lot of black pepper, some salt and a touch of cayenne. After the mixture was nearly ready, I added about 4 tablespoons of red vinegar and boiled for another 5 minutes or so. I had the glass jars heating in the oven while preparing the salsa. For one kilo of tomatoes I got two and a half small jars of salsa. The half jar will be used today. So not nearly as cheap this way, but tastes really good, and a big plus is that even though there's not that much of vinegar, this keeps in the fridge well. Whereas the store bought salsa jars turn into petri dishes in less than a week after opening, I've noticed.
